Kamp Kodiak 2014 "the Spirit of the Bear" is completed!
Thanks to all the men that participated and those that supported the event on staff, we had 31 campers, all sites were occupied, and had some great food, fellowship and comraderie in the woods. About 1/3 were new members camping at Kodiak for the first time, we had men from Texas, Idaho, Canada, and all points around Puget Sound. The weather was challenging with three days rain after 10 weeks of 80's dry, but we all sur... vived and stayed positive even if slightly moist. People kept games at sites inclusive and camp fires burning.
The out of camp activiites were hits and kept everyone enthusiastic, thank you to the orgainzers of those activities.
Big thanks to: Scott/Kyle for the firewood donation we all apreciated it and it kept "the spirit fo the bear" burning; John and Jack for the shower detail every morning keeping us all fresh, and Walt for preparing morning coffee and the continental breakfast to put smiles on faces in the early morning. And everyone pitching in when needed to help get things set up and activities going.
Congrats to the Bobby/Sam cooking team for overall outdoor cooking contest winner with their dessert of nutella smores , they win one indiivdual Kamp Kodiak 2015 free registration: they and the other section winners Jim (white bean chili) and Scott/Kyle (beet salad) also won outdoor dutch oven cook books and NWBear club aprons.
